Over Tourism

There has been many effects on tourism due to general garbage and land pollution. Many of the problems are due to the inhabitants of the area, but another big concern is due to uncontrolled tourism. In many cases with the more new tourists visiting into a area the more infrastructure is needed to be constructed to meet then needs and wants of that group. All that is at the cost of the land. It is not only the infrastructure that effects the land but in many places there is an ecological disturbance to the land to build biking trails and hiking trails. Which in cases will bring more garbage into the area such as on Everest and can cost some serious damage. One  perfect example of uncontrolled tourism that has majorly effected a ecosystem is the coral reefs. Due to careless tourism in some areas the coral has been severely disturbed and broken. The world wildlife fund mentions that roughly one quarter of the worlds population are damaged beyond repair and two thirds are threatened due to various reasons major ones being careless tourism and pollution.

There are no hundred percent solutions to many of these problems but with many areas they should limit the amount of hotels around certain beaches, or allow certain amount of people to climb a mountain in a year. But another major problem on limiting tourism is the loss in revenue, it is the trade off of our environment for total earnings. Currently it seems that making money is worth more then our ecosystems. Luckily there is a growing demand for ectourism and having smaller impacts on our planet. Eco Tourism is one of the best solutions for it does not trade off the revenue generated from tourism onto effecting the land.
