Mt. Kilimanjaro

Many of our planets great mountains are being effected  by human traffic and waste. But non maybe as bad as Everest, but it is taking it's toll slowly on all majorly visited mountains. Luckily they have been coming up with some great solutions for the cleaning of other mountains that are not above the "death zone" of 8000 meters, such as Mt. Kilimanjaro. Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in the continent of Africa in the Country of Tanzania. The mountain has seven peaks the highest of which as at 5895m and roughly 35,000 people set out to climb Kilimanjaro each year. That would bring a lot of garbage into the
Mt. Kilimanjaro
area, luckily they have come up with a couple of good solutions. One of my favorite ideas to help clean up the mountain is booking a clean up expedition. This expedition costs roughly 1000usd to volunteer, but this money does not go to waste. With the money they hire porters and buy other essentials from the villages around the mountain to escort you up the mountain to see the sites and to clean up. The organization I found that hosts these tours is Nomadic Adventures. Another great option that I read about was that they have started a fund called the Kili fund. This fund doesn't only help keep the parks and mountains clean but it also helps the local porters and the porters families by keeping them employed so they can earn more then just ends meat. The fund will also educate and encourage on green practices. I believe starting funds like these are the best solutions to keeping these wonders all over the world clean. It will keep locals employed and the mountains clean. This would be the best solution until people realize they can't just leave their garage where they please.
